I'm uhhh... doing stuff.
So. For th past couple weeks I've been working on new tilesets for the new game. These aren't final. i want to build the players house to establish an artistic theme. One I've done that I should be able finish polishing off the systems I've roughed in already. Haven't started on the digital world tileset yet. and no animation has been done yet. But I'm pluggin away at it still.
The Art looks awesome! It´s also nice to see the front page change^^
ReplyDeleteOK, this has been bugging me for a while. Just how do you pronounce "Regless"? Is the G suppose to sound like k(eg), or like re(gi)ster?
ReplyDeleteGreat looking tiles BTW!
As in keg.
DeleteThank you!
DeleteLooks Great! Keep it up pal! *heh*
ReplyDeleteHe liiiiiives! Glad to hear things are going well for you, and I have to compliment you on the artwork here, as it does fit more your style with the pastels and almost line ignoring flow.
ReplyDeleteCurious if you are still interested in that writing help. I sent a message or 2 via Deviantart but didn't want to bug you.
Right. shit. I got the message but wasn't sure at he time so I ended up ignoring it until I forgot about it. Sorry about that. I don't need any writing help at the moment because it's way to early to write anything. Thanks for reminding me.
DeleteNo worries, a basic 'not sure yet, will let you know later' would have worked but I am *fully* aware of how stuff like that can slip through the cracks when life and projects gain momentum.
DeleteIt being too early makes sense if you are focusing on revamping the visuals and coding for the new system it'll be on, so do you want me to check in a few months?
Hey, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but is there a way to make Bonehead run in full screen mode? Also, is there a walkthrough anywhere?
ReplyDeletesorry. Due to RPG Makers limited pathing options I used a script to extend those functions. Problem is that made it so it throws an error whenever the screen tries to move into the negative x and Y coordinate so everything is measured to work with the default resolution.
DeleteActually there *is* a script that you could use Regless. I've been putting it into your game ever since I first started playing it to make the screen bigger. It isn't true "fullscreen" but it is pretty close.
DeleteIt works for all RPGmaker games so to all those who want to use it, feel free: http://thelastsovereign.wikia.com/wiki/Full-Screen
wait what new game?
ReplyDeleteHes changin it from RPG maker to i think unity
Delete@.@ what?
DeleteOh... my... fucking... GLOB! It's gorgeous!!!
ReplyDelete\o/ he lives
ReplyDeleteYou son of a bitch... I thought you died.
ReplyDeleteBS :D
Deletehow do i instal or whatever the card/word/file thing i need to read what it says in the boxes? i can read what people SAY, but not what's in the menu, and stuff.
ReplyDeleteYou need to drop the font (I think it's called yearbook) into the windows font directory/folder. I kind of forgot how to do it, but a quick search via Yahoo/Google should tell you what you need to know.
Deleteas much as i love your art, the game is unplayable for me right now because of the 249 and 292 error, and trust me, i really want to play it. In my opinion you should focus on the bugs first, but you decide, your game not mine.
ReplyDeleteHe is planing on rebuilding it in a game engine that is more open ended then RPG Maker.
DeleteA lot of those errors are caused by script compatibility problems.
oh i see, looking forward to it!
DeleteOther commenter mentioned it already. But yeah, I spent month trying to get rid of those bugs and they still persist. That was the major factor in me deciding to use a different engine.
DeleteThe one anoying part about the rebuild is i gotta frekin rememb how to get to all the hidden stuff -.-
ReplyDeleteReg will ya be streamin soon?
ReplyDeletesorry right now all my time is taken up by coding. not as fun to watch.
DeleteI just downloaded the game, and all the menus are blank, and the opening text said something about installing a font that came with the game. I don't know where that is. I would think that downloading the game would give everything I would need without having to do any extra work. Where should I look for this?
ReplyDeleteThe file should be in the main directory, it's called "Sophomore Yearbook". All you have to do is look up the install instructions on your favorite search engine.
DeleteDont worry too much about it since ya gotta start over the game from scratch. So atm play for story
DeleteHi regless, What engine are you going to use this time if i may ask?. you spoke about moving to another engine if i don't remember wrong earlier i might be cause im the mad one but oh well.
ReplyDeleteGame Maker~ It's been used to make stuff like Stardew valley and Hyperlight Drifter. I think it'll work for what I have planned nicely.
DeleteNice to see your still alive Regless. I was wondering, are you still going to work on BoneHead? But on a different platform or something?
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work :D
would donating money help to speed up progress are inspire you
ReplyDeleteRegless has already said he doesn't accept donations. He's not doing this for money.
DeleteSo Reg. Any thoughts on #ElbowGate?
ReplyDeleteI think this is a typical case of gender based violence against women. The prime Minister needs to formally apologize again for good measure.
Delete*calls himself a feminists, then smacks tits around in front of the nation*
This guy hit her so hard she couldn't even vote. Are u registering this shit? She couldn't even vote.
The man appologised twice... witout any one calling him out even
DeleteNot enough honestly, and the victim of his violence actually said she couldn't vote due to his extreme harm.
DeleteI guess that's not calling him out.
I think it's pretty funny. She could be a soccer player they way she fakes injury.
DeleteLooks like you're alive. I was hoping the Canadian government had arrested you by now.
DeleteGotta say, Regless. Your game is still fun, even months after it's release. I really can't wait for the next part so i can get back inside the paper mansion. This is gonna be GREAT. You the man, bro.
ReplyDeleteAs a voice of the lukers of this game... keep up the great work!!! (theres more of us than you realize)
ReplyDeleteLurker* (same guy just spell checking I always mess up)
DeleteI recently found out about bonehead, just want to say that it's probably my favourite H-Rpg to date. The story is more enjoyable than any other i've seen, and on top of it, the visuals are great. The addition of Ryo and Yourself are great as their humour eases the tension that would otherwise be crushing. Good job, Keep up the great work, and I look forward to see what is in store later down the road.
ReplyDeleteHi regless, hows the game coming along any news? :)
ReplyDeletelast update I had a few system roughed in, basic movement, and was still working on barebones graphics. At this point I've settled on a style for the world, the movement now detects tile collisions and it seems I'll be able to include jumping. And I'm putting the polish on the system I made *getting the graphics in and everything*
DeleteThat sounds very good, how long untill you get a new version
Deleteout? oh and by the way i've been meaning to ask these 2 questions 1 do you got a job or something that take's away
time to work on the game? and would donations to 'pay' someone to help you with making your game in scripts/programming or drawing more graphics or making 'nude stuff ect' contents or increase your time for making bonehead instead of lets say 'work/school'? or even a new computer or other software or even a website of your own with servers. with someone managing it? :)
A blog is good and all but a forum/website would increase
activity and people showing nice interest when one does something is always a mood lift, and while the saying is usually happy wife happy life for men, id say for a game maker, happy gamers, away with the flamers. :P :)
But anyway its just me just thinking here, several people seems willing to donate even if its monthly, to help you with making your game And i am among them, but me like others would like to know 'how' it would help you. On patreon for an example allows you to put up goals, maybe you could either Make a post that stay's above the others and update it once it surpass a goal or just put up a post once everytime a new goal is reached with a simple thanks? with a simple statement each time that we are not 'paying' for the game but rather just donating of our good will and faith. I know you don't want a patreon, but i am quite sure you enjoy making this game, otherwise you would have quit a long time ago. :)
-No idea. I like not having deadlines. I've given a couple estimates before but they always turn out wrong.
Delete-I do have a full-time job... kinda. I can basically show up whenever I want as long as I make a certain amount of hours.
-Can't accept money for Bone Head. Has too much stuff in that that is not for commercial use. I know donations aren't technically commercial but it's really shady. the donations was for the streams I was doing which have kinda taken a back seat for a while.
-Would love to find a full time artist or programmer. Very difficult to get one that is both good enough and not already working on something. Even if I was rolling in donation money I'd still have a heck of time finding someone. I'm not very good at finding that kind of help.
-I like the website idea. And I have a friend in web design. Might be something to look at once I get more of the games art done.
-I'm good for software. Torrents allow me to try whatever I want I make a good living so I buy whatever I use more than once or twice.
-I'm aware of Patreon. Actually hoping to use it... eventually. Would love for this to be my full time job. One of the reasons I didn't with Bone Head in addition to using third party assets, was that I wasn't really sure I'd be able to actually make anything good. Definitely a prudent decision given all the bugs that started popping up. In the meantime though, no. Not till I get something proper completed that can inspire some confidence.
Patreon allows for adult content. same with Paypal now from
Deletewhat i can gather, if i had your skype or somewere we could
speak instead of write maybe i could help you out
with the non-commerical stuff? i happen to know people
who knows people and ect, lets just say i open my mouth
and stuff happens.. *blush* anyway i post it also on your new post since idk if you will check your older one. :)
god speed good sir
ReplyDeletePlease make an faq the game. Sometimes I get lost without knowing what to do, for example in parts of the lever to extinguish the flames have some order to it ?. (I'm sorry for my "google" english).
ReplyDeleteHi Regless, im kinda a new guy here. but im a big fan of your game.Totally a big fan. Eventhough there practically none existence of ero scene but the story really make it up for it, BIG TIME. Really love the story and character setting ( especially the scene where the first time Bonehead appear, kuhhh so cool, really leave an impact there )
ReplyDeletePlus that dreamlike world like emo gory style, i really like that kind of story/setting ( there really not many of those kind of game, also kinda remind me of the game ar tonelico/ ar nosurge, where hero go into the heroine inner world: yandere version) and im just dying to know the connection between that world and the real world of the hero reside.
and that guy... that really strong guy that using the beermine.
im itch to know what his deal is.
Will keep checking and donate if i got a spare change.
I will keep cheering on you. Good Luck
Really though, really like the story ( i know i said many time but its important :3 )
might wanna wait before donating. RPG maker was giving me all kinds of grief so I moved on to a different engine. I still plan to go back an redo bonehead on the new engine but for now you might want to wait and see if you like my next project.
Deletealright, will do,
Deletethks for the reply btw :3
Good luck on making the game
Regless, if we don't truly like the game 'for a reason'
DeleteWe will tell you why, and only if you won't fix it because you can't fix it really because of not knowing how or you need to buy something or an service or so. People will probably spam donate you simply because they would with that scream to you/tell you to 'hire' someone to help you out, or get an even better engine if thats what it would take. I can tell that the game you made on last engine was a HIT. I've tested tons of games hentai and not, and i can safely say, you are the one game creator of all hentai games i've seen that could sell the game when finished and people will buy it. sure maybe not for very very much but still a bit above what minecraft cost. And no im not joking, i am actually serious and thats RARE for me to be. :)
Please help me with the quest "The Back Door", where the key? (Sorry for my google english).
ReplyDeleteIt's an ongoing quest that isn't resolved yet.
DeleteSo the end of the game is in the hive !? It's a shame because the game is amazing (despite the large amount of crash); recently in a new gameplay discovered the faction of the priests, and the romance with the mother of the main character (it made me very surprised), leaving that aside I hope you have many H-scenes in the game; I saw a lot of things move in the game folder and beautiful CGs, by the way I saw it on the map Kuro castle to an area with some glowing red thing rammed the wall and can not really get there it also has to do with the game progress ? And to finish, you have any idea when will update the game?
Delete(Thanks for answering, and once again I'm sorry for my English Google.)
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteThe game currently ends once you defeat the Hornet/Bee Queen at the top of the ruined temple. Where you will get "End of chapter 1"
DeleteThe game has a number of secret passages (fake walls that you can walk through). There is a item "Frosen Shard" or something like that; which happen to be scattered around. I think I ended up finding 6 of them. Currently I have no idea what they are used for, but I have a feeling they might have use.
All the CG's are in game so if you didn't find one in-game, well you missed something. For example something I missed was you could steel a earring from the Head Priestess before the Prologue ends which has some effect later on.
As for updates, I pretty certain he's working on a smaller, but similar project currently. As such Bonehead may not be updated for some time (a year? more?). Now I might be wrong but that's my understanding currently.
PS. This blog needs a edit option -_-
It would be a shame if he gave up Bonehead project; I read in the comments that it would be changing engine (probably due to the crash problems), I recommend that he tries to Rpgmaker MV to continue the Bonehead (if he does not give up this project). As for your comment about secret passages, some I found by sheer luck. During this demo, I found many items that could be of any use (or not) during the game.
Delete(Sorry for my English Google.)
Are you still doing streams Regless or have those stopped happening awhile ago?
ReplyDeleteThey stopped a ways back. Since coding isn't that interesting he stopped for now. However at some point I think he will start up again.
Deletethose have stopped since I've been devoting most of my time to coding with a bit for pixel art icons and stuff. They'll probably pic up again when I start getting back to character face sets and stuff. But that's a ways off.
DeleteFair enough, this is for the new game right, the coding bit?
DeleteI also want to say you were smart not to make this a money maker or depend on it for income as there's been a huge blowout with Breeding season. Not a great game but the fallout'll have some repercussions in the indie game industry.
I'd just like to say I'm a bit dissapointed .. such a promising start .. I thought I'd found a new game I really liked .. Then a bunch of unwinnable fights and silly mazes .. There really wasn't much content .. Ended up grinding and wandering around a long time .. and after all that It was like .. that's it? ... wtf. I know people will just call me a hater .. but man .. that premise .. I've never been so hooked on a game and then so IMMIDIATELY unhooked that I just had to say something ..
