Hey. Started getting more eventing done since I took my work to... well... work. Still wish I had way more time. Also redoing some of the art assets I didn't like. I'm gettin' better. You should be able to recognize Lady Yin. the other is Toshi Dryden's brother. Since the next chapter isn't just for feedback I want to make sure I get their designs right. Figured I'd give you all an update since you've been waiting so patiently. I've started working on some of the CG more regularly which is a good sign. The thing I've been working on lately that's taken up so much time is a tactical battle system. I've hintd that armies will clash and this provides me a fun method to do that which making dozens of maps carefully contrived events. I'm using the GTBS script for vx done by gubid and aim to have a couple screenshots of it up in a couple weeks. So till then, take care ladies and gentlemen.

Oh and if any oh you know how to script in rpg maker vx, drop me a line. I want to get an add on for the gtbs made and would be very happy to pay for it.

Oy. so I figured I get this underway. I left a small update at hongfire but for those of you who check here exclusively, I haven't died and the project hasn't slowed down... much. I bought a new cintiq, it doesn't work, getting it fixed. That'll be about two weeks. Also moving, that's kind of a major annoyance.

As for actual progress, I've been doing character sets, writing events, finishing touches on maps. You know, stuff I do without my cintiq. Just finished a char-set today actually and I think it was the last one. Maps are about 75% done. Thanks to CosmicKitty and GoatRider for your hard work. I want to update a few character designs. but that's kinda periferal/last thought/finish everything else first sort of deal. So most of what's left is eventing and drawing H scenes. The latter of which I can't do right now.

And I'm sure there's plenty of people out their who would like a release date, or even a ball park release. Well last time I said June and then work picked up. June went Bye Bye and it's still many months off, which is why I don't like release dates. Shit slides sideways at any given time. For now just know the group is puttering along consistently as ever. Small update. I got two new mappers and a backup two on the waiting list. In short, this means I have most likely found a sufficient amount of mappers for the game, and have finally started working on the eventing remaining art assets. I'd like to commission the H art too, but the artists I like aren't always available and consistency counts for a lot. Either way, this basically means progress has picked up bit.

Update June 13/13

Alright. So plenty of little things have been going on. Got a new desk which I had to assemble, twice, cuz I misread the instructions. That killed a week.

Ryo's not gonna be as fast as I'd have hoped but I sure as hell ain't turning away any help.
He's getting better too so that's a positive.

Had another mapper with us on a trial bases. But it's not gonna work out. *shame too cuz she was really good* But she wasn't comfortable with the job, which is perfectly understandable and I can relate to quite a bit actually since my mind went blank the first time I considered drawing an H pic. XD. But anyways, wish her the best of luck. She said she does intend to finish the task given to her so that's a plus.

I've started advertising for the position, although not on offbeatre. I don't want to put myself in a position where I might actually get funded because I tend to blink on and off the internet for days at a time randomly.

On that note, anyone with mad PS skills looking to make a few bucks in there spare time, I pay $60 for a 30x30 tile map, $120 for a 60x60tile map, and $200 for a 100x100.tile map. I have all the resources you'll need and you don't have you worrying about the crazy coloring, shadowing. I can do that myself. Just need someone to lay the areas out. I pay half in advance, rest upon completion, and despite the nature of the game you won't be exposed to any inappropriate content.

As for personal progression. It's basically more of the same slowly but surely stuff I've been saying all long. I've been editing some of celianna and lunarea's steampunk tiles which are sure to come in handy for quite a while. This is actually a pretty good example of why I hide from funding. Her tiles are pretty popular so there's a decent chance someone could locate the game on offbeatre and report back to them, especially if the game becomes more popular. If that happens it'll be too late to say 'oh oh, I never really intended to get funding;.' It's on offbeatre! That's like the entire point of putting it there. Also I've been bouncing around doing a bit of character designing too.

I should be able to upgrade my cintiq by the end of this month as well and I'm not gonna lie, I'm giddy as a school girl about it. Last Of Us comes out tomorrow... *waves bye bye to the weekend*

Just felt like giving an update. work has slowed a bit but not stopped with my new work hours and that Ki No Kuni game... which is freaking amazing by the way. Finished a couple maps and started on eventing. also been redoing a couple of the crappier Facesets. For example, Leia.

Alright. We may have a new mapper with us. Actually the same dude that came up with Ryo. if it works out *Which so far it looks like it will.* This will probably help me save me a few months and give me more time to focus on the art. Which is ironic because my work scheduled is about to kick it up a notch. Anyway. Wish the guy luck and I'll see you next update.

Parallax Mapper Wanted.

You don't need to be a master of the screen and hard mix layers or anything. I can add the effects on my own. But a standard paralax mapper would be great. I've spent much time fiddling with my own shoddy area layouts, throwing out some areas and revamping others. It's a huge time sink. If anyone wants to help, lemme know.

Okay. So the above pick shows the new system vs the old system. Instead of going toward the unexis and using a key the nexus auto teleports you to the World Map where you can move around designated pathways. So far I'm very happy with the result. Not only do the picks gives clue about the world, and what's going on it also showcases the insane configuration of mansion. Very Alice in Wonderland.

A: Point pathway. You move along this.
B: Lock. You need those keys for a reason and won't be able to progress past locks without them.
C: Room. Unique icons showing designate rooms
D: new areas. The paper mansion builds new areas when more people come inside as indicated here.
E: Segregated Areas. Not all areas can be easily accessed. The First broken room for example has no point path. You have to get to them the hard way. So basically I'm not abandoning the exploration element at all. Just adding to it.

 WM. It's resized so it doesn't follow the grid properly on this resolution but it does full size. this is a free roam map. No point to point movement. The major areas show up instantly. Hidden areas will only show up once you sniff them out. Also coming along quite well. On one hand it's been a huge workload incease having to redo everything. On the other hand making new distinct areas is much simpler. So yeah. this has been just awesome

New World Map

Okay. So right now the world map is big it's empty and it's gross. I was having yet another discussion about what I could do to fix it with Kuga who I like to think of as a a conceptual mob boss because he knows how to take an idea and make it work for him.   Anyway, this coversation came about because of some hand drawn pokemon world maps I found. Those look good. Traveling isn't a bitch. They feel full of life. Slight problem though. They aren't tiled. I'd have to do point to point travel if I made something like.

So we were just sitting there with our tea and pizza bouncing pros and cons off of each other. When he suggests using it for the paper mansion instead, because as many of you have noticed, traveling in that place is a wreak. Good idea. But while I was working on that I kept thinking about ways I could deal with the tiling for a hand drawn overworld map. I came to the conclusion I might be making things harder in my head than they have to be, so I gave that a shot.

So far it's coming along really really well. I don't want to show anything until I get some of it colored. But the results thus far have basically made me giddy all day.

More news. Another couple maps done. Found another older one that isn't was set aside for... well now expect it kinda suck now. So that'll have to be redone. I've got about three really big ones to go. After that. Eventing and art. been drawing a bit anyway whenever I feel the luls come for me.

Hello all. Just a little update to let you know I'm not dead. Had a bit of a rut but those always come and go. Got a few char sets done although I don't want to spoil what they are. That should hopefully be the last of them. Also been planning out some maps which is a little more difficult but progressing. Talk to ya later and ciao.

Final Battler done. Rejoice boys and girls. This is Jade. An Imperial tank-like Commander and likely the first major boss you will encounter. Feels real good to have these done finally and to have them looking so damn nice.

So the work plan I got from now til the end is to do 2 H pics. Then map out a new area, then event it. And keep doing that until the first chapter is is done. I believe I also have two more charsets to do so I'll do them as I need them.

Music tidbits 1

Greetings! I'm Jack Archer, Call me Jack, or Vindi. So far to you individuals who browse the blog get mostly production notes. Welp! I'm going to change things up a bit.

I will provide a weekly YouTube video of various music that will possibly be inputted to the game, Where it will be is for you the viewers to guess and find out.

Lets start with this Piece, Butou (Dancing) composed by Michiru Ooshima,A 3/4 Waltz brimming with energy.  Beginning with a string section oriented part, with a harp for rhythm. Before long transitioning into a full ensemble, with brass, and percussion. Listen to it, and enjoy!

This is something that my come in the game, Winterbliss by Waterflame( a very energetic trance piece with a nice beat, tone. Used in Castle Crashers' snow level.

Update.

Lots of work done this time.  Mainly. Major progress on the battlers. 3 out of six down now with the other three most completed line-work. Took a look at some of the maps I wanted to bring into the next chapter of game. they're from and older build and are unfortunately a bit of a mess so a couple need to be redone.

Still taking a gander at hentai artists and I'll tell you why. I've got a pretty good job that gives me a lot of freedom and pays well. I actually make a lovely bit of coin for every day of work. Hentai pics take me a couple days to draw. One day of work means I can commission three of them if each costed $100. This is enough to get really high quality art. Obviously I have no intention of downgrading the art in this game since it's on of the major attractors. But if I can find someone to help me get this done faster. I will definitely use it.
