So I've been back for a bit. The match 3 game is now fully funtional. there's some balancing to test out but that won't be needed for the proof of concept. Character still needs to be resized but that uses dialogue sprites so I'm wait until I do a polish pass on that. And the blocks still need their final graphics.

At the moment I've gone back to working on the remaining menus that are needed for the proof of concept. With the match three game done I now what I'm aiming for now and what all needs to be laid out. Specifically I'm working on the options menu which just needs a graphical update and the Hacker Equipment screen. I'll post as I get them completed. Hopefully I should have one or both finished this weekend. Cheers. Also planning to stream at 2pm pst. I know, it's a been a while. Cheers.

Stream is at https://picarto.tv/PaperMansion

  2. So, is Bonehead still being developed or no? Because I used to follow this place quite regularly, then it seemed like Bonehead got dropped which is when I disappeared. I'm not sure if it did get dropped, or if I just misinterpreted something.

    1. The Story So Far....

Having run into multiple obstacle with RPG maker Regless reassed his his options...

After much thought and debilitation he decided on using Game Maker as his new game engine.....

He then decided that he should make another game (to polish his skills and get to know the new engine?). This game would come to be known as Gold Fish Hacker.......

The story gets kind of vauge at this point, but Reg said that he will continue with Bonehead after he finishes this one. I remember him saying at one point that he can use the scripts he's making for GFH and put them towards rebuilding Bonehead in Game Maker.

    2. Anon pretty much nailed it. I decided to work on a new project to see what I could actually do in game maker. The last thing I wanted to do was get halfway into bonehead and half to stop again for some dumb reason. Goldfish is actually turning out a lot better than I thought. Plan is to rotate by chapters. So I'll do a chapter for one then a chapter for the other.

    3. I see. Well then, good to know it isn't dead like so many other games end up being. I'll keep an eye out. Thanks for the update, both of you.

  3. Is this new cyberpunk game a remake of the original bonehead game or is it completely different game? as I really liked the original bonehead game the moment when you turn into the bone form was really nice.

    1. It's a new game but I recycle some characters and names. It's not really the typical cyberpunk, more Megaman battle network with the neon colors and brightness. You have to gain control of the people around you by hacking them. their digital worlds are the levels.

    1. Not gonna lie. Kinda bugs me how much time I wasted with RPG Maker. feels like I'm 4 years behind where I should be. Guess that's how it goes though. Needed to learnt he basics somehow.

    2. I don't believe it's time wasted. Any progress with the story helps make it better, even if it is rebooted in the new engine. And all the time spent scripting with RPG Maker sets a good foundation for scripting events in any engine. The great care and detail put in the world, the story, and the gameplay make it worth waiting for.

  5. @Reg

As someone that has been (trying to) working on his own games I never felt that my time spent in any game engine was a waste. While it may have felt like it put me behind, I still learned a lot of cross platform skills that helped me break barriers in the long run.
