Okay so just a little update on exactly what's going on.

1st Dungeon: Done
2nd Dungeon: In progress
Tactical Battle: Art assets done
3rd Dungeon: In Progress
4th: Dungeon; In Progress
Alpha Test: Myself and two others play through to make sure it's possible to reach the end.
BetaTest: Five People from the blog playtest to catch any minor errors.

At this point BoneHead is the ONLY thing I'm working on. When I finish the first chapter I plan on taking a short break to screw around on something else for a month. Not gonna give any details on that now.

I don't really know how quick it's going to be. I keep adding little stuff here at there so the levels don't just feel like padding. 2nd dungeon being a perfect example of that. I finished the main quest events earlier this week. But it felt a little dry going through it so I'm adding in things to increase your romance value and other little secrets. Also Steam on sunday. Will post here when done.

  2. Thank you for the progress update, based Regless. Much love.

Take as much time as you need. My comment on your previous blogpost was mostly me saying I'd be willing to donate money to you(Or actually pay money for the completed version when it's done).

Because the game has so. Much. Atmosphere. The demo gave me the same kind of feeling playing Legend of Mana or Xenogears did back in the day. It hits me in all the right places on things I like in games.

    1. Oh right I forgot to address that. I may start accepting donations on my next project, providing I get it out before I return to work on this.

    2. Patreon for the win! With patreon you're not accepting money for the work per say, more like accepting donations so that you don't have to do other work and can focus on bringing content to the supporters.

Like priests do with "offering". You pay the priest so he can focus on God and prayer and not have to worry about bills and working and such. You aren't *technically* paying for his preaching and his prayers... Just... kinda. In a round-about way. One that is completely legal.

I know a couple fanfiction writers who do it. Though I only support one.

    3. Ye but patreon has a downfall its like a blog for donators and you have to focus more on that blog than this one and it makes people that havent donated mad a bit.

    4. Finally! It's about time you came over to the dark side! Forsake your droll and dull day job and become an indie game dev full time! You know you want to!! (j/k.... maybe)

Anyway you may want to include a Paypal option too if you go the Patreon rout. It's nice to have several options. I personally prefer to drop $15 lump sum once a year then signing up for Patreon and doing the $1 a month option.

I'm looking forward to your descent into darkness :D

    5. I don't think I'll be going to patreon route. Granted it's easier to secure income on a weekly or monthly basis. But as Nikola said also require a fair amount more work. Disregarding that, I'm not sure I'd be able to provide very good tiered rewards.

  5. Narration of regless, prologue.

Regless was just a regular Otaku, with a secret ability to see ghosts. His younger sister died and is a ghost that only he can interact with. Then a succubus stopped by and said that she could turn his sister back to normal but in order to do this he needs to gather a large quantity of lust. With no other option regless decided to build a hentai game.

    1. That would be a good premise for a game actualy :)

    2. ty i came up with it myself.

  6. Ok... I gotta state something. Im the son of a preacher.... Offering doesn't go to the preacher. It goes to charities.NONE of it goes to the Preacher, Pastor, or Priest unless they are imbezzling. I don't know where you got that idea Cloud, but it's just flat out wrong.

    1. Just out of curiosity what would happen if ur parent found out u were into these games?

      Delete
    2. Really? I mean I know about the charities and other things like youth groups and foreign aid missions. And building maintenance seem pretty standard as well as other stuff like utilities, land rental, study supplies. I just kinda assumed they took care of pastors as well. Mind you I know a couple exceptions.

    3. Actually, that depends on the church. There are many churches that have a "speaker's offering". As the son of a preacher myself, (adopted, when he married my mom) I can vouch for this.

      Delete
    4. Of course, this offering is completely separate from the "building fund" and other offerings they take up. So you know just how much you are giving. Basically, the job of the priest is to preach/teach/pray, unfortunately society no longer allows you to just own a home. You have to pay taxes on it every year and other stuff, so just having some place you built yourself in the middle of nowhere is no longer viable.

At least, that's one of the more common reasons churches that do this give.

      Delete
    5. And for further clarification, the speaker's offering goes to whichever preacher actually gave the sermon that day. Since most of the churches I've been to have only one preacher, with *maybe* a second in training... It's pretty much one guy.

    6. Thanks for the clarification Cloud. I remember someone yelling at JW I used to study with to stop going door to door bugging people and to get a real job. He and his family were full time plumbers or electricians. Also sorry, I forgot to put the art up yesterday. I'll do that today.

  8. Every time I write an anime plot about the possible explanation for why regless is developing this game he doesn't even respond.

    2. When i see that hair i think Goku, srry. :X

    3. The hair needs tweaking. I'll be fiddling with it over the week. Hopefully I can get something that looks a little better. If not say hello to hurricane head.

    4. Who is abs hurricane head there?

    5. She is a small fire spirit named ember.

      Delete
    6. Figured she had something to do with fire or lava. The coloration made it obvious, but with spirits that's not necessarily a bad thing, considering how symbolism is big with that in most mythologies.

  9. New art looks impressive as always. Any chance we may see a new demo anytime?

  10. Regless please don't make ember like Navi. Sitting on my shoulder going, "HEY! LISTEN!" all day. I will be forced to get the swatter lol. ^_^

    1. No. That's not what the spirits are for. They can however, allow Dryden to use new skills.

      Delete
    2. So is it an affection based thing? More affection means more abilities from said spirit? Or is it a fusion type thing a la Breath of Fire II?

      Delete
    3. No. These sets of spirits are relatively minor characters and I don't want to hold useful skills hostage. They're like an interesting add on. Something that rewards exploration.

      Delete
    4. Ahhh... wasn't sure if they were an add on, or full on romance-able characters if you played the spirit faction side of the game.

      Delete
    5. Sort of like the Djinns in Golden Sun?

      Delete
    6. LOL. Believe it or not that was the exact idea I had for them. Nice call.

      Delete
    7. Sweet! It's a neat concept but please do not include 72 of em... twas a bit of a overkill in TLA...

  12. dang, i've just been grinding zombies in the demo, LOL i need some release.

    1. Why grind? Thats not how ya beat last boss :)

    2. For testing purposes? I know I edited the game to make the monsters give more exp on one playthrough just to see if any special titles or something happened for breaking the various level barriers mentioned in the dresser of the shrine. Hit above level 99 and no real change other than stats. Of course, could only be because it was a demo where you shouldn't be able to get that high yet and whatnot... Not to mention that for some reason even with only Dryden in the team a "blank" character kept leveling up with me.

    3. I lved a lot trying to kill regy before using my brain to do it :D.But he may not know.As for the promo i did all but one thing i never figured out how to enter that hole where you rescue one of the characters

    4. just because i like the game's atmosphere, and it's pretty addicting lol, i'm crazy enough just to want to do it. Why? i dunno, and I already finished the demo xD months ago.
