Final Battler done. Rejoice boys and girls. This is Jade. An Imperial tank-like Commander and likely the first major boss you will encounter. Feels real good to have these done finally and to have them looking so damn nice.

So the work plan I got from now til the end is to do 2 H pics. Then map out a new area, then event it. And keep doing that until the first chapter is is done. I believe I also have two more charsets to do so I'll do them as I need them.

One of the first H pics is already done and can be seen at Hentai Foundry here.

Fai Defeated

It's not a spoiler since this is the scene that will show up when you beat Fai. Not gonna put H content on the blog though so this place will stay work safe.

  1. The Boss (she's female right?) looks amazing. It's awesome that you've progressed so far and I hope you see this project to the end.
If the demo is any indication this game is going to be one of the best RPGMaker games even without the H content, which brings me to the question at hand - Fai's eye in the Fai Beaten artwork kinda freaks me out. Is this the final version of it?

  2. Weird. Thought I replied to this already. Anyway yep. This particular general is all female. As for the Fair artwork. LOL. Well it was supposed to be... what's buggin you about it? To dialated. Positioned weirdly?

  3. The perspective is kinda off. The eye is drawn as it would be seen from the front and from this angle looks a bit too big. It also lacks depth and it's giving the impression that it's part of the base of the nose which is a bit uncanny.
I get the idea that she's supposed to be shocked, outraged even, but to me it just doesn't look right. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong :)

    1. You're probably right. When it comes to art I'm strictly a hobbiest and it shows in cases like this. I don't really want to draw anything until I figure this out and fix it. But I don't wanna spend a whole day trying to figure it out... Might be time for a little vacation working on this I think.

    2. Please don't get discouraged by my rantings. I am no artist - just a fan trying to provide some constructive criticism.

    3. Sa'll good. It's not discouragement, honest. It's more a minor case of OCD. The biggest thing that slowed down the release of the demo was simply not doing it right the first time. It just keeps on bugging me me till eventually I HAVE to fix it. So I want to be careful to avoid doing that again. Sometimes a small break is good for recharging my batteries and allows me to see errors I missed before.

  4. Hey man, I've only been playing for half an hour so, exploring the town...but I already gotta say that I love the game! The dialogue, music and surroundings...all make me really invested in the game. Hell, it even reminds me of some older JRPGs like Breath of Fire III that made fall in love with the RPG genre! I'm already looking forward to more! :D

  5. I just stumbled over your game a short while ago, but I am really impressed with what I was able to play. It can certainly become one of the best RPD Maker games I have played at all. There are some things I found while playing this game that I really liked, while others just felt wrong. I will explain in detail what I mean by that. Everybody that has not finished the demo should stop reading my comment to avoid a possible spoiler.
First thing I loved was the wonderful selection of music this game has. Especially the different version of “Hymn of the Storm” was nice to listen to. The graphics and the dialogues were great as well.
One nice feature would be a fast skip feature for dialogues. Because even though they are great, I certainly would have liked to skip some dialogues at my second play through. But this certainly is not so important. It’s just a nice addition.
Furthermore Dryden said this, while being in the paper world: “Aww man, foreign currency. No one in our town can use this.. And some of us might be hung for trying.” If so, how is he able to use the money he gets from the princess (Rin)? If she is unaware of Dryden’s original location, how is she able to give him the correct money?
The next small error I encountered was the moment Regless tries to throw my party of the cliff. Before he lands at your supposed position, your character is able to move. There for I move mine four steps to the left. If a player does this, it is quite illogical how Regless can throw the party of the cliff, if he is landing closer to it. A simple solution would be to just freeze the movement in this dialogue.
Every problem stated so far is minimal, but the one thing that really ticked me off was the skill to switch between Dryden and the “Bone spirit” as well as the behavior of Yin at the end of the prologue. Do not get me wrong, I love the idea of switching between the characters and especially the idea of shredding armor or disarming an opponent. This can lead to quite a bit of tactical choices. I also understand that Dryden should only be able to fight with his bone armor on. But really, only 1 HP? I cannot understand why he should die through a flea bite while his unarmored friend Leia can take 453 times as much damage, even though he is supposedly physically and constitutionally stronger. (Maybe just make him unable to attack and lower his defense if he does not wear his bone armor.) If the change skill is intended to be used during the battle (because you can do so), at least make him able to survive one hit from a rat, should the character mistakenly walk into one as Dryden. If the change skill is not supposed to be usable during battle, it would be nice to make it unavailable then.
The character is destined to lose against Yin, but you are able to change out of the bone armor during battle. The whole following cut scene does not make any sense, should you do so.
Even if you lose normally, the last scenes do not feel right. It looks as if Yin turned full retard. After all, she already does seem to know that Dryden is the “Bone spirit”. She even protected him only one room before this last battle occurred. Then all of a sudden she is beating him up until he is bleeding all over and even allows those guards to continue beating him to near death afterwards. What a great and respectable Miko she is. You can’t honestly tell me that nearly dying is a fair punishment for stealing a jewel, especially after he save her and everyone’s life. Even the comment “following her into these woods is forbidden” Dryden lets loose before the battle starts is no proper reason. If it is, the rest of his party should be beaten senseless as well. And there is no way to make it believable that she didn’t want to attack him. She did move into attack position first.
Sorry for this long comment, but I found no other way to contact you. And even though I mentioned some negative things, my opinion from the very beginning of this post still stands. This game is great and I can’t wait for your next update.

    1. Okay. YEM has a text skip system. Not quite as good as what you would see in most professional h games and VNs but better than nothing. So look forward to that.

For the first error. Rin can easily identify Dryden's country of origin. The fact that she has foreign currencies laying around doesn't mean she mean she put them there or that that is all she has.

Second error definitely needs a fix, thanks.

Third issue. Dryden Can't fight. Leia is in fact much much stronger than him but lacks confidence. That's not an error. The entire reason he needs the Bone Armor is that he will always be completely useless in a battle without it. I do like the idea of increasing HP maybe a unique skill like steal or something, but he will remain largely useless by means of having no attack or defense.

4th issue. Need to fix that armor change. It's suppose to be usable during some battles. Obviously not certain plot related boss fights.

Okay. So there's a lot to say about the last bit, but I don't want to give everything away. Yin didn't go into retard mode. Rather she kept control of the situation. Remember it's not the jewel that has her mad it's the fact that he killed a town resident, so there's going to be fallout from that. The dying guard explicitly singled out the Bone Spirit. And that's really all I want to say about that until the next chapter.

  6. Hi, I am trying to play your game and I get this weird error after the first couple of sentences, After the male character is finished speaking to himself and the screen fades it says Unable to find Graphics/Pictures/[FIXED] Town East? So, yeah...how do I fix that?

    1. I had some troubles with this too.
What you are supposed to do is download all three MediaFire files here: http://www.hongfire.com/forum/showthread.php/352093

And then copy/paste the Graphics files in their appropriate maps.
You should also install the font that comes with it.

  7. If this has been answered elsewhere I apologize,
I've played through th demo and was wandering if it will be possible to attack an enemies weapon as well as there armor?

Also is there a plan for a New Game+? Long way off I know but I'm wandering if ya can go back and get an alternate ending by say beating the Priestess at the end of the demo.
